Presentation of Audience Analysis. (November 29-December 13; Weeks 15-17) (10%)

In this presentation, either live or in a video, you’ll describe why you decided on specific genres in order to reach a particular audience in your Composition in Two Genres. You’ll give a brief overview of the topic that you studied this semester and the conclusions you arrived at about that topic. Based on your conclusions you’ll then define the purpose of your Composition in Two Genres (what you want your audience to do, know, think, etc). You’ll name your audience and why you chose that audience. You’ll describe in detail several features of your genre, and why you believe those features will appeal to your audience. Some features that you will discuss might include:

• color
• font
• text (the kind of language you use and how much text you use)
• image
• video
• arrangement
• other things that I haven’t listed here but that are obvious to you

In your presentation, if you are doing a live talk you will utilize PowerPoint or other presentation software to make slides that coincide with your presentation. If you are presenting a video version of your talk you will make use of visual elements that can include but are not limited to slides.
